Saints Sweep Lady 'Canes in Season Finale

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla.- The Georgia Southwestern softball team went scoreless in both game against Flagler College on Sunday at Flagler Field to end their season.

GSW finished the season 24-32 overall and 7-17 in the Peach Belt Conference while Flagler improved to 24-25 overall and 9-15  in the PBC.

GAME 1: GSW 0, FC 4

Flagler pushed two across the plate in the first inning off two singles and scored in the second off an error to lead by three runs. They were able to hold off GSW from scoring and plated one more in the sixth to take the shutout win.

GSW finished with three hits, no runs, no RBIs and four errors.

Brittany Childs (L, 7-11) pitched six innings, faced 30 batters, had eight hits, four runs, walked one and struck out one.

GAME 2: GSW 0, FC 6

Flagler scored one run in the first off a double, one in the third off a sacrifice fly and one in the fifth off an error. The Saints pushed three more across the plate in the sixth off a double and a single and held off GSW from scoring to take another shutout win.

GSW finished with three hits, no runs, no RBIs and one error.

Erin Steele went 2-3 at the plate.

Haley Goodson (L, 9-14) pitched six innings, faced 31 batters, had eight hits, six runs, walked five and struck out four.
