Lady Canes Drop Series Against Columbus State

AMERICUS, Ga. -- Georgia Southwestern (27-18) dropped two of it's three games against Columbus State (22-21) in their Peach Belt Conference series this weekend. The first two games of the series on Saturday were tightly contested with each team splitting the day.

The Cougars took the first game after Hannah Corbin and Hannah Holloway both through complete games with the Cougars taking the advantage. The second game went to the Lady Canes with a collapse in the top of the seventh forcing the Lady Canes to have to come up in the bottom of the seventh leading to a walk-off hit from Morgan Mullin to even the series at one apiece.

The third and final game of the series was dominated by the Cougars from start to finish Hannah Corbin threw her second complete game of the series and hit two homeruns in the third game. 

The bright spot for the Lady Canes was Lacey Rutledge who batted .500 in the series with 4 RBIs with a two-run homerun in the first game to open up the scoring in the series.
