The Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team was unable to keep up with Lander University on Saturday afternoon at the Storm Dome and fell 87-70 in Peach Belt Conference action.

The teams went back-and-forth over the first nine minutes of play as there were six ties and seven lead changes.

Lander (11-7, 6-5 PBC) continued to build on their lead out of the break and with 11:18 to go, a Shannon McKever jumper gave the Lady Bearcats their biggest lead of the night at 70-48.  Southwestern would get no closer than 15 the rest of the way.

Lander converted 23 GSW turnovers into 28 points.  The Lady ‘Canes turned 13 LU turnovers into 12 points.
