Reynolds scores 21 in impressive road win

AIKEN, S.C. - Junior guard Brittany Reynolds scored a game-high 21 points to lead Georgia Southwestern to a 69-55 upset of USC Aiken on Saturday afternoon at the Convocation Center.
 
USCA did not visit the free-throw line in the first half and went just 8-of-24 from the floor in the opening 20 minutes.
 
The Pacers turned the ball over 14 times before halftime.
 
Georgia Southwestern also struggled from the floor early, shooting 6-of-24 in the first half, but the Hurricanes connected on 7-of-10 free throw attempts to lead 20-17 at halftime.
 
The Pacers more than doubled their scoring output from the first half in the final 20 minutes, scoring 38 points on 12-of-31 shooting, including 13-of-21 from the charity stripe.
 
The Hurricanes held their advantage in both categories into the second half, connecting on 12-of-24 from the floor and 23-of-27 at the line en route to the 69-55 win.
 
Brandi Burris added 15 points for Southwestern.  Nadirah Gardner scored 11 and Terra Branch chipped in 10.
 
The two conference wins this season doubles their total from the previous two seasons combined.
 
GSW heads to North Georgia for a Monday Peach Belt matchup with the Lady Saints.  It's the second game of a four-game road trip for the Lady 'Canes.
