MILLEDGEVILLE - The Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team held Georgia College to 13 first half points and led wire-to-wire en route to their first Peach Belt Conference win this season, a 46-37 decision Wednesday evening at the Centennial Center. 

GSW scored nine unanswered points to start the game and held Georgia College scoreless until 14:21 was left in the first half.  

After the Bobcats had closed the gap to six (15-9), the Lady Hurricanes finished the half with a 12-4 run and led 27-13 at the break. 

Cierra Duhart scored the opening basket of the second period and gave GSW a 16-point lead, its biggest of the game.

The Bobcats (8-3, 0-3 PBC) would eventually pull within four points (33-29) with 10:03 remaining. After exchanging baskets, a 7-0 GSW run put the game out of reach.

Duhart led the Lady Hurricanes with a double-double, scoring 11 points and grabbing a game-high 14 rebounds. Nadirah Gardner added 10 points and six boards.
 
GCSU's Chimere Jordan led all scorers with 17 points. Karisma Boykin chipped in 10.

The Lady 'Canes outrebounded Georgia College (43-30) and had ten more bench points (13-3). GSW shot 33.3 percent from the floor for the game and held GCSU, who received votes in the latest USA Today ESPN Division II Coaches' Poll, to 24.5 percent.
 
Southwestern (7-5, 1-2) hosts Francis Marion at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
