ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - The Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team defeated Flagler College, 69-56, on Saturday afternoon for its third-consecutive victory.

With the win, the Lady Hurricanes (12-10, 6-7 PBC) hold the fourth spot in the PBC West Division, while the Saints (5-17, 2-12 PBC) are half a game ahead of Augusta State for sixth in the PBC East Division. The top four teams in each division make the 2011 PBC Championships.

GSW built a quick seven-point first-half lead, 10-3, and stretched the advantage to 17 points by the halftime break, 43-26, behind 14 points from Jessica Bivins and 10 from Terra Branch.

Kanita Holloway scored six of GSW's first seven points of the second half to help the Lady Hurricanes grab their largest lead of the night with 15:18 remaining, 53-35.

The Saints answered with a 14-3 run to cut the deficit to seven, 56-49, but that's as close as the home team would get. 

Flagler finished the game shooting 36.1 percent from the floor, while the Lady Hurricanes finished at 38.5 percent.

Southwestern converted 25 Flagler turnovers into 26 points. The Saints could only manage 11 points off of GSW's 22 giveaways.

GSW was led by Branch's game-high 18 points. Holloway scored 13 points for the second-consecutive game, to go with 10 rebounds for her first double-double of the season. Bivins finished with 15 points and Cierra Duhart pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds.  

Rachel Brown led Flagler with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Southwestern hosts Georgia College in a WBCA "Pink Zone" game at 5:30 p.m.
