AMERICUS, Ga. – The start to the Lady 'Canes 2011-12 basketball season keeps getting better and better. On Monday afternoon, the Peach Belt Conference named GSW forward Adrian Randall its Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The Brooklyn native's award marks the first time a GSW Lady 'Cane has been named Player of the Week since becoming a NCAA Division II member and joining the Peach Belt Conference in the 2006-2007 season.

Randall averaged 14.5 points and 14 rebounds for the week as the Blue & Gold won both of its games by an average margin of 49 points. Her 25 points and 17 rebounds in GSW's 101-57 victory at Montevallo were season highs, and it was the junior's third double-double of the season. The win against the Lady Falcons was also the program's first-ever victory at the University of Montevallo.

Nine games into the season, the forward is averaging 12.7 points, 12.7 rebounds and 2.2 blocks per game. Those numbers put Randall second in the PBC in blocks, third in rebounding and seventh in scoring.

The junior has been a key cog to the Lady Hurricanes program-best 8-1 start to the 2011-12 season. As a team, GSW is leading the Peach Belt Conference in scoring and rebounding. Coach Britsky and company are in the Top 3 in more than a handful of other statistical category.

Randall and the rest of her GSW teammates will be back on the hardwood in a little over a week. Georgia Southwestern will have their hands full as they travel to take on the defending National Champions of Clayton State University. The ladies are scheduled to tip-off against the Lady Lakers at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, December 14.
