ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - A fast offensive start by the Flagler Saints proved to be trend of the game as the Saints were too much for Georgia Southwestern as they prevailed, 85-54, in Flagler Gymnasium Saturday afternoon.

The Lady 'Canes spotted Flagler the first ten points of the contest and the Saints raced out to a 45-23 first half lead behind a combined 23 points by junior guard Williesha Spencer (12 points) and forward Jen Knurek (11 points).

Southwestern never recovered as Flagler shot 51 percent from the field for the game and held a commanding 46-27 rebounding advantage over the Blue & Gold.

GSW was led by Jasmine McSwain's 11 points and seven rebounds while Danisha Green added ten points and five steals. 

Ottishia Burden came off the bench and chipped in a career-best eight points for the Lady Canes who fall to 3-12, 1-7 in the Peach Belt Conference.

Spencer finished as the game's high scorer with 24 points on the afternoon.

The 5-foot-3 junior guard also grabbed six rebounds and dished out six assists for the Saints who improved to 5-8, 3-5 in the PBC. 

Shelbi Lindsey (21) and Kneruk (15) rounded out three Saints players who finished in double digits for Flagler. 

The Lady 'Canes will be back in action Monday as they travel to Armstrong Atlantic for a 5:30 p.m. contest.
