AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern State University head women's basketball coach Kelly Britsky has announced the addition of Jaquasha Sesler to the Lady Hurricane squad for the 2014-15 season.

The Wildwood, Fla. native signed with the Lady 'Canes after playing the past two seasons for Santa Fe College located in Gainesville, Fla. Sesler will join the program in the fall with two years of eligibility remaining.

The 5-foot-2 guard averaged 10.1 points per game and 5.7 rebounds her sophomore season to help lead Santa Fe to the Florida College System Activities Association (FCSAA) State Tournament. For her efforts she was named to the 2013-14 All Mid-Florida Conference Second Team.

Sesler played in all 29 games for the Saints (10-19) last year, scoring in double-figures on 18 occasions. Sesler turned in three double-doubles, including a 11-point, 13-rebound effort on Feb. 12 at the College of Central Florida where she was an efficient 5 of 8 shooting.

As a freshman at Santa Fe, Sesler averaged 7.1 points and 3.0 rebounds per game. She was named All Mid-Florida Conference Second Team and for her work in the classroom was honored as a member of the FCSAA All-State Academic Team and the MFC All-Academic Team.

"We are so happy for Jaquasha and the opportunity she has at Georgia Southwestern," said SF head coach Chanda Stebbins. "She has given us so much effort and energy on the court for two years that people don't realize what a great student she has been as well. I am very proud of her and we look forward to following her as she pursues her bachelors and continues playing for Hurricanes."
