Hall Looking To Make Mark At GSW

AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern State University head women's basketball coach Kelly Britsky has announced that Va'Queshia Hall will transfer from Georgia Highlands College to play for the Lady Hurricanes in the fall of 2015.

"I believe that Va'Queshia will be a great fit for the program and will go do a great job in the Peach Belt (Conference)," Britsky said. "We will look for her to make big contributions right away."

Hall averaged 12.3 points per game and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 50 percent from the floor in 2014-15 for Coach Brandan Harrell at GHC.

"She is a strong inside player with great size," Britsky said. "Va'Queshia scores the basketball well and owns the glass."

The 6-foot-2 forward posted five double-doubles last season. Her best performance came Feb. 7 against East Georgia State when she dropped a game-high 22 points and pulled down a season-best 20 rebounds, three shy of the team total for East Georgia.

"Va'Queshia sets high goals for herself and has the work ethic to reach them," Britsky said.

Hall scored in double figures 18 times last season, including a season-high 23 points at Cleveland State (Tenn.) Community College on Nov. 25. She grabbed double-figure rebounds on five occasions. For her efforts, the Macon, Ga., native was named to the 2014-15 Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association All-Region Third Team.

As a freshman at Middle Georgia State College, Hall averaged 14 points and 8.2 rebounds. She played her prep ball at Howard High School in Macon.
