DAHLONEGA, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern women's basketball team had a player selected to the Southeast Region All-Tournament team after the Lady Canes' historic first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Ava Jones, a Peach Belt All-Conference selection, impressed voters on a national stage in her two NCAA Tournament games leading GSW to its first win in the tournament in school history against Barton College. 

Ava Jones had 19 points in the first game of the tournament and followed that performance with a 21 point game despite missing minutes due to foul trouble. In Ava's second game of the tournament, she added three assists, one block, one steal, and four rebounds to her stat line leading the game in scoring. The junior guard from Carencro, La. finishes will return next season as one of the most accomplished players in the program's history.
