Lady Hurricanes Continue to Climb in Polls

AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's basketball team moved up a few spots in both of the NCAA Division II national polls released on Tuesday afternoon. GSW moved up to No. 11 from No. 13 last week in the D2 College Sports Communicators (D2CSC) media poll. The Lady Hurricanes are No. 21 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) poll, up from No. 25.

GSW won both of its games last week to improve to 16-2 overall and 9-1 in the Peach Belt Conference. The Lady Hurricanes hold a one game lead atop the PBC standings.

Last week was the first time GSW cracked the WBCA Top 25 this season after receiving votes for six consecutive weeks. This is the third consecutive week the Lady Hurricanes have been in the Top 25 of the D2CSC poll. GSW has ranked first in the D2CSC Southeast Region poll for the last two weeks.
