The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team lost 4-0 to Thomas University on Thursday afternoon at Hurricane Field.

Thomas freshman Casey Ponder (Cairo H.S.) gave TU an early 1-0 lead when she found the back of the net from eight yards out off an assist from Sabrina Freeman at the 22:07 mark.

Minutes later the visiting Lady Night Hawks (1-2) scored their second goal when senior Mandy Ballinger broke loose in front of the goal and fired a quick shot from 10 yards into the top right corner at 31:52.

The lead remained at two until the 66th minute when freshman Madlen Schwausch took a feed from junior Tiffany Parker and pushed a shot past GSW junior goalkeeper Christy Drabek.

Ponder punched in her second goal of the game in the 69th minute from 12 yards off a pass from Ballinger to complete the scoring on the afternoon.

Drabek tallied four saves for GSW. Heather Collins stopped four for Thomas. The Lady Night Hawks outshot GSW 22-10 and led 3-1 in corner kicks.
