Bahri breaks shutout record in GSW win

Freshman goalkeeper Amber Bahri notched her third shutout of the season as the Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team defeated Columbia College (S.C.), 3-0, Saturday afternoon at Hurricane Field.

Bahri breaks the GSW record for shutouts in a season after the Lady Hurricanes fifth match of the 2009 campaign.

Brittney Hill put GSW on the board in the sixth minute when she dribbled through the Columbia defense to score her team-leading fourth goal of the season.

Geavonni Bryant increased the Southwestern lead to two goals at the 34:01 mark off an assist from Elizabeth Keller.

Keller completed the scoring in the 71st minute when the senior drilled her first goal of the year off an assist from Jennifer Starvetsky.

Bahri stopped 10 shots for the Lady 'Canes.  On the other side, Ashley Eckler saved three.

Columbia outshot GSW 15-13 while Southwestern held a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.   

The Lady Hurricanes travel to Thomasville on Wednesday (9/16) for a 2 p.m. match with Thomas University.
