Lady 'Canes fall to Flagler, 4-0.

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. - Three first half goals by the Flagler Saints (7-1-1) was too much for Georgia Southwestern (2-5-1) to overcome as they fell 4-0 Wednesday night at Saints field.

Flagler got off to a fast as a corner kick set up midfielder Cassie Fernandez's first goal of the night off a pass from Jessica Jagielski just a little over a minute into the game.

In the 21st minute of the first half, Flagler forward Taylor Atkins scored her fifth goal of the year off a pass from Lindsay Zullo.

In the 23rd minute, the duo of Fernandez and Jagielski teamed up again for another score as Fernandez took another pass from Jagielski to put the Saints up 3-0 heading into halftime.

The second half started in the same fashion as the first when Jagielski set up her third goal of the night as Lindsay Zullo took her pass and found the back of the net.

The goal proved to be the last of the night as Flagler went on to a 4-0 shutout victory.

On the night, Flagler held a demanding advantage on shots, 28-4, including a 14-1 on goal advantage. Senior GSW keeper Amber Bahri was credited with 10 saves on the night.

Southwestern will be back in action this Saturday as they return to Hurricane Field to take on USC Aiken for a 1 p.m match.
