First-Half Gaffes

MILLEDGEVILLE - A pair of first-half goals by the Georgia College women's soccer team was the difference on Wednesday evening in a 2-0 victory over Georgia Southwestern at Bobcat Field.

GSW was shutout by Georgia College for the fourth-straight year in a series controlled by the Bobcats. The Lady Hurricanes have scored just once (2008) in the seven-year matchup.

Lindsey Knott punched in her first goal of the season for GC at the 23-minute mark to open the scoring.

Rebekah Autry added the insurance goal at 39:36.

GSW goalkeeper Amber Bahri garnered eight of her 12 saves in the second half to keep the deficit at two scores.

Georgia College finished with a 14-1 shots on goal advantage. The Lady Hurricanes did not take a corner kick (11-0).

Seeing plenty of action on Wednesday, Bahri extended her conference lead to a dozen with 108 saves this fall.

GSW returns home for a pair of non-conference weekend matches to round out the 2012 season. The first comes on Saturday at 1 p.m. when Palm Beach Atlantic visits for GSW Senior Day.
