Night Hawks Soar by the Hurricane

THOMASVILLE, Ga. - The GSW women's soccer team was on the road to play the Thomas University Night Hawks Wednesday afternoon. The Lady Hurricanes held off the Night Hawks for ten minutes before the first goal was achieved.

The first goal was in the 10th minute of the game off a corner kick from Night Hawks Adrianna Johnson to Linn Viklund. The second goal was a short 4 minutes later off another corner kick from Johnson, this time Carina Spengler found the back of the net.

The next goal was in the 19th minute when Emma Hewett found the back of the net from a distance after connecting with a pass from Alyssa Denton. The Night Hawks kept going with goals by Alyssa Denton and Alx Walter to finish off the half.

The second half was not much different for the Hurricanes. Night Hawk Spengler recorded 2 more goals with assists by Jenny Hernandez and Alx Walter. Johnson recorded 2 more assists to the book to Jenny Hernandez and Breana Pullara. Pullara scored one more time with an assist by Hernandez. Hannah Claesson scored in the 79th minute of the game unassisted. 

GSW recorded a total of 12 saves on the day compared to the Night Hawks 2.

The Lady Hurricanes will be back in action at Georgia Gwinnett on September 28th at 4:00 p.m.
