AMERICUS - The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team was one of the men's or women's programs cited by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) for its Silver Level of the Team Ethics Award as released Thursday afternoon.
"I am proud of our girls for achieving this honor," comments Head Coach Samantha Snow. "This game is a lot more than wins and losses and it's great to see the values we are striving to instill in our players are being recognized."
The Lady Hurricanes were only carded five times this past season and not one player received a red card.
Georgia Southwestern, Columbus State University, Georgia College, and the University of North Georgia were the only other Peach Belt Conference members on any of the other three teams. Georgia Southwestern, Columbus State, and Georgia College earned Silver level honors while North Georgia and Flagler earned a bronze level.
