Spring Hill Badgers GSW In 5-1 Setback

AMERICUS - Colleen Livings scored her first goal of the season for the Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team on Sunday afternoon but three consecutive goals by Spring Hill College to open the match propelled the visiting Badgers to a 5-1 victory.

The Lady Hurricanes drop to 0-2 overall while Spring Hill evened its record at 1-1.

Maha Maarouf led the Badgers' attack with their first goal in the 15th minute. Next came Badgers scores from Francesca Talotta (25:31) and Hannah Michael (28:59).

Livings punched in a corner kick from Sholeh Rezaee at the 30:23 mark to pull GSW within 3-1.

Lillian DeSousa added the final goal of the half in the 39th minute and teammate Courtney Harlan closed the game with a penalty kick in the 66th minute.

Spring Hill held the shots on goal advantage, 15-4, and led in corner kicks, 8-2.

Emily Jones, making her first collegiate start, stopped seven during her 71 minutes between the pipes for GSW. Chelsee Wright saved three shots over the final 18 minutes.

Abby Massengale saved three shots for Spring Hill.

Southwestern hits the road for the first time this season as they travel to Coker College for a 7 p.m. match on Wednesday.
