SAVANNAH, Ga.- Armstrong State University scored three goals in the first half and four more in the second to defeat GSW, 7-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Armstrong State Soccer Field.
The Pirates first goal came at the 9:01 mark from Sarah Olin off a toe-touch cross along the face of the goal. Olin scored 57 seconds later off a low cross from Amanda Green who also assisted the first goal.
The Lady 'Canes held off Armstrong for 30 minutes before they scored their third goal off a pass from the top of the box to head into the second 3-0.
Armstrong scored four more goals in the second half. Jenny Allen beat out the keeper from 25 yards out kicking it to the far side at the 49:59 mark. Erin Berube scored the next two, one unassisted and the other from a tap in front. The last goal was headed in off a corner kick.
Elyse Gowen made a season-high 19 saves, in her 60:53 minutes of play and Chelsee Wright made seven saves during the final 29 minutes.
The Lady 'Canes are on the road Monday at USC Aiken for a 3:30 p.m. Peach Belt Conference match.
