Senior Day Setback

AMERICUS, Ga.- The Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team (2-14, 0-11 PBC) lost 6-0 on Wednesday to Georgia College (8-7-2, 6-4 PBC) at Hurricane Field.

Georgia College scored twice in the first half and four times in the second. Their first goal came nine minutes into the first half off a free kick. Their second goal was a shot from outside the box shot high up by the cross bar out of the keepers reach.

The Bobcats scored their third goal 90 seconds into the second half. The fourth came two minutes later off a cross in front of the box and kicked high. The fifth was booted past the keeper as she came out to play it and the sixth was from another cross in front of the net, kicked high again.

Elyse Gowen made 12 saves in the 64:33 minutes she was between the pipes and Chelsee Wright had four saves in her 25:27 minutes.

During halftime Kristi Sheridan, Taylor Herron, Tara Harrison and Kori Hunter were honored as part of Southwestern's Senior Day ceremony.
