AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern State University head women's soccer coach Harold Munoz has released the program's 2016 schedule, which features nine matches at home and eight away from the confines of Hurricane Field.

GSW holds a combined 6-5 all-time record against the five non-conference opponents on the slate for 2016.

The Blue & Gold open the season with a pair of road matches, starting at LaGrange College on Sept. 1. A trip to Emmaunuel College (Ga.) follows on the 7th.

The Lady Hurricanes return to Americus to kick off a five-match homestand that opens with a visit by West Georgia on Sept. 10. Middle Georgia State stops in for a midweek match (Sept. 14) before the first Peach Belt Conference foe comes to town in Armstrong on the 17th.

GSW wraps up non-conference play on Sept. 20, against Toccoa Falls College, and the homestand comes to a close on Sept. 24, with a visit by USC Aiken. 

The Lady Hurricanes leave the Peach State for the first time when they close out September at Flagler College in St. Augustine, Fla., on the 28th.

A visit by UNC Pembroke on the 1st opens play in October and is followed by trips to Montevallo (Oct. 5) and last year's NCAA Division II national runner-up and PBC regular season champs, Columbus State (Oct. 8). Another stretch of home cooking follows as three of the next four contests are at home as the Lady Hurricanes entertain Clayton State (Oct. 12), then travel to Georgia College (Oct. 15), before returning to Americus for matches against North Georgia (Oct. 19) and Francis Marion (Oct. 22).

Coach Munoz & Co. face consecutive road matches for the third time in 2016 during the final week of the regular season when they travel to Young Harris (Oct. 26) and close out the campaign on the 29th at Lander.
