Munoz Steps Down As GSW Women's Soccer Coach

AMERICUS - Harold Munoz announced he is stepping down as head women's soccer coach at Georgia Southwestern State University and has accepted a position on the women's soccer staff at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.

"I have met some great people here at GSW," Munoz said. "I am very grateful for the opportunity that (athletic director) Coach (Mike) Leeder gave me and I wish the athletic department the best of luck in the future."

Munoz completed his first season at the helm for the Lady Hurricanes in 2016. His first NCAA coaching position was at Eastern New Mexico University in 2005 where he was a graduate assistant during the inaugural season of men's soccer. Current Angelo State head women's soccer coach Travis McKorkle oversaw both the men's and women's programs at ENMU that season and provided Munoz with the opportunity.

"We are sorry to see Harold leave," Leeder said. "I am pleased with where Harold took our program in such a short period of time and appreciate all of his hard work. The national search for his replacement will begin immediately."
