AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern State University head women's soccer coach Enrique Rodriguez has released the program's 2017 schedule, which features eight matches at home and seven away from the confines of Hurricane Field. A trio of Wednesday matches fill up the majority of the first month of the season home slate with the first weekend home contest coming on Saturday, Oct. 7.

GSW holds a combined 3-10 all-time record against the five non-conference opponents on tap for 2017.

The Blue & Gold open the season with three of their first four matches in Americus, starting with Emmanuel College on Sept. 6. A trip to Middle Georgia State follows on Sept. 8, before the Lady Hurricanes return to host Southern Wesleyan on the 13th and Spring Hill College on the 20th.

The Peach Belt Conference opener ensues at USC Aiken on Sept. 23, and Flagler College visits Hurricane Field on the 27th. A trip to UNC Pembroke on the 30th closes out September.

The Lady Hurricanes wrap up the non-conference portion of their schedule and open October with a trip to West Georgia on the 4th. GSW draws 2016 national semifinalist Columbus State for its weekend home match of the season on Oct. 7.  

After a midweek stop at Clayton State (Oct. 11), the Lady Hurricanes make it back-to-back Saturdays in Americus with a match against Georgia College on the 14th. Consecutive road dates follow with trips to North Georgia (Oct. 18) and Francis Marion University (Oct. 21).

Coach Rodriguez & Co. close out the 2017 campaign at home against Young Harris College (Oct. 25) and Lander University (Oct. 28).
