Late Goal Lifts FMU to Win

AMERICUS, Ga. -- In a fast-paced game with very few fouls, the Georgia Southwestern women's soccer team gave up a late second-half goal to the visiting Francis Marion Patriots that led to a 1-0 loss on Hurricane Field Thursday night in a Peach Belt Conference match. 

Both teams had a total of nine fouls with one yellow card being called on the Patriots. The Hurricanes had a couple chances to tie the game late in the second half but nothing could get pass the Pacers. 

In the 61st minute, Pacer's Valentina Restrepo found the back of the net for the only goal scored of the night, winning the game for USCA (3-6-0 PBC). 

Marina Augugliaro led GSW (0-4-1 PBC) with two shots on goal followed by Reilley Bain and Payton Johnson, who finished with three shots each with one landing on goal. 

USCA led 5-0 in corner kicks and outshot GSW 13-9. Trinity Chastain finished the game with six saves.
