Tennis teams finish the weekend 0-2

The Georgia Southwestern tennis teams finished their weekend Peach Belt Conference road trip 0-2 after being swept by Lander on Sunday afternoon at the Joe Cabri Courts.  

#35 LANDER 8, GSW WOMEN 1

The Georgia Southwestern women's tennis team fell to Lander, 8-1, in a PBC matchup at the Joe Cabri Courts on Sunday afternoon.

The Lady Hurricanes (4-8, 0-6 PBC) fell behind 2-1 after doubles action, before dropping all six matches on the singles side.

Southwestern's lone win in doubles came at No. 1 where Leady Cueller and Lauren Grogan defeated Aurelia Ruffat and Ana Luiza Zaia, 8-3.

At No. 2 singles, Mollie McGowan for GSW took the first set from Aurelia Raffat, 7-5, before losing the next two, 6-4, 6-3.

Of the Lady 'Canes eight losses this spring, five have come at the hands of nationally-ranked opponents. 

Southwestern is back in action on Saturday (3/13) with an 11 a.m. match at No. 4 Francis Marion.

The Hurricanes (3-6, 0-4 PBC) fell behind 3-0 after doubles action, and dropped all six matches on the singles side.

Of the 'Canes six losses this spring, four have come at the hands of nationally-ranked opponents. 

Southwestern is back in action on Saturday (3/13) with an 11 a.m. match at No. 15 Francis Marion.
