FLORENCE, S.C. - The Georgia Southwestern tennis teams were swept by Francis Marion University on Sunday afternoon at Kassab Courts. The GSW men lost 8-1 and the women fell 6-3.

The GSW men are 3-8 this spring, 0-6 in Peach Belt Conference play while the women are 5-8 overall and 1-6 in the PBC.

Abel Acuna picked up GSW's lone victory on the men's side. Acuna defeated Tim Ruepke at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 6-2.

Oliver Marshall came up short in a match-deciding tiebreaker at No. 5 singles.

On the women's side, Anna Kate Shaw picked up a pair of victories for GSW. Shaw teamed up with Kalie Douberly to win 8-0 at No. 3 doubles over the FMU pair of Savanna Summers and Veronika Viegas. Shaw proceeded to rattle off a 6-3, 6-3 victory at No. 5 singles. Lauren Resnick grabbed the other point for the Lady Hurricanes when she won 6-2, 6-4 at No. 6 singles over Summers.

The GSW women travel to UNC Pembroke on Monday for a match at noon. The men host ABAC at 2 p.m. on Tuesday.
