Tennis Lands Five On All-Academic Team

AMERICUS, Ga. -- Women's tennis players Charli Allen, Kendall Crew, Celia del Castillo and Alexandria Rhodes along with men's tennis player Beau Millwood were named to the 2019 Tennis All-Academic Team in a release announced Monday by the Peach Belt Conference.

GSW holds five of the 56 spots on the Tennis All-Academic Team.  

Crew, the Americus, Ga. native, leads the pack with 3.685 grade point average as she is a senior Management major. Allen is a senior Nursing major from Hoschton, Ga., who holds a 3.55 GPA along with Millwood, who also holds a 3.55 GPA and is a senior Nursing major. 

Castillo, the senior Marketing major from Seville, Spain, holds a 3.527 GPA and sophomore Rhodes, a Marketing major from Ocilla, Ga., holds a 3.44 GPA. 

The teams are part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team's events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution and has reached sophomore athletic eligibility. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee the program.
