GSW Tennis Loses Season Opener at West Georgia

CARROLLTON, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's tennis team opened its 2023 season with a 7-0 loss at West Georgia on Saturday afternoon.  

The Lady hurricanes traveled to West Georgia on Saturday to open regular season play with a 2 p.m. match.

The Hurricanes best singles perfomance went to Lina Benjelloun as she was able to keep the set close as she was defeated (6-2) and (6-4).

The best doubles performance by the hurricanes went to Sofya Kanarskaya and Geanna Richard who battled in their two sets but were deafeated (7-6) (7-5).

The hurricanes will stay on the road as the take on Clark Atlanta 2 p.m. Tuesday afternoon.
