ROME, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern State University women's tennis team earned its first win of the season defeating Shorter University 5-2. 

The Lady Hurricanes 2023 season has not started off the way they wanted they came into the match 0-3 on the season.

The Hurricanes best singles performance went to Lina Benjelloun she won her match (0-6), (6-4).

The best doubles performance by the hurricanes went to Madeline Barnes and Lina Benjelloun they won the set (6-0). 

The Hurricanes will be on the road to face off against Georgia College and State 1 p.m. Sunday afternoon.
