AMERICUS - The Georgia Southwestern women's cross country team is hosting its sixth annual Remembrance Run on Saturday at the Sumter County Parks & Recreation Sports Complex. The women's 5k race starts at 8 a.m. with the men's 5k race to follow at 8:30 a.m.

Participating schools include: GSW (women), Fort Valley State (women & men), Albany State (women & men), Columbus State (women & men), Miles College (women & men), Point University (women & men), Morehouse College (men), South Georgia State College (women & men).

Columbus State won both the women's and men's events last year.

GSW is coming off a second place finish in 2014 with sophomores Victoria Hickom (5th) and Ashleigh Owens (8th) placing in the top 10.

Admission is free.

The SCPRD sports complex is located off Highway 19 in Americus (743 Hwy 19S).
