AMERICUS - The Georgia Southwestern women's cross country team is hosting its seventh annual Remembrance Run on Saturday, Sept. 3, at the Sumter County Parks & Recreation Sports Complex. The women's 5k race starts at 8:30 a.m. with the men's 5k race to follow at 9 a.m.

Participating schools at last year's event: GSW (women), Fort Valley State (women & men), Albany State (women & men), Columbus State (women & men), Point University (women & men), Morehouse College (men), South Georgia State College (women & men).

Columbus State won both the women's and men's events in 2015.

Spectator admission is free.

The SCPRD sports complex is located off Highway 19 in Americus (743 Hwy 19S).
