Lady Canes XC to Compete in Jaguar Invitational Saturday

AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern women's cross country team is set to compete in the 2018 Jaguar Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 22 at Redcliffe Plantation State Historic Site in Beech Island, S.C. 

Hosted by Augusta University, the women's 5K will feature host Augusta, Albany State, Clayton State, Columbus State, Flagler, Francis Marion, Georgia College, Lander, North Georgia, Paine, UNC Pembroke, and Wesleyan.

One full outer loop of the course is approximately 2100 meters, as the course is mostly grass and dirt with minor rolling terrain; the women will race approximately two and 1/4 loops around the course. The race will serve as a preview race for the 2018 Peach Belt Conference Championships, which AU also hosts at Redcliffe Plantation on Nov. 3.

The Lady Canes opened their season in late August where they competed in the VSU Border Clash. The top three finishers for GSW were Katherine McGarr (35th), Connie Lewis (47th) and Retchiel Roble (50th); who competed against 69 other runners.
