MOUNT BERRY, Ga. - The Georgia Southwestern State University women's cross country team finished 19th of 24 schools Friday morning at the Florida State University Invitational held at Apalachee Regional Park. Catherine Hall paced the Lady Hurricanes by finishing the 5K course in 20:28 to take 120th place out of 228 competitors. 

Quincy Mayer crossed the finish line second for GSW with a time of 20:39, good for 127th place, while Sarah Earley was the third GSW runner across the line, and 157th overall, in 21:39. Connie Lewis finished with a time of 23:14 to edge out teammate Madaline Toth (23:23). Alex Exum shaved 20 seconds off her last 5K time and posted a personal record with a 24:02. Retchiel Roble finished in 24:32 and Nathalie Maralunda completed the course in 28:09.

NCAA Division I member Chattanooga placed three runners in the top five to finish with 26 points, ahead of Emory University (48) for the team title. 

Makenzie Jones from Chattanooga crossed the finish line first overall with a time of 22:14.71.

The Lady Hurricanes return to action Saturday, Oct. 19, when they travel to Mount Berry, Ga., for the Berry Invitational (6K) hosted by Berry College.
