  • Lady Canes Earn ITA All-Academic Honors; Five Named Scholar Athletes

    The GSW University women's tennis team earned Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team status and put five student-athletes on the ITA Scholar-Athlete list, which was the second-highest total in the Peach Belt Conference for the 2018-19 season. Seniors Charli Allen, Kendall Crew and Celia del Castillo, sophomore Alexandria Rhodes and freshman Hannah Hogg earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors for the Lady Hurricanes. The award is given to all varsity letter winners with two semesters at their current school and at least a 3.50 grade point average (on a 4.00 scale) for the academic year.

    Today we meet women's tennis standout Charli Allen. Charli is in her final season with the Lady Hurricanes as she nears graduation. Get to know a little more about Chari as she sits down with Chris Avery to discuss an array of topics. The "Canes Spotlight" is a video series that features a different student-athlete in each episode.
  • Weekend Recap: Lady Canes Remain Undefeated, Men Win 2 of 3

    The GSW tennis teams continued their strong start to the 2019 season as the Hurricanes combined to go 5-1 in matches last week. The women's team remains undefeated and is off to its best start in school history since joining the NCAA ranks in 2007. Freshman Sophia Winters led the way as she was perfect last week, winning all six of her matches. Winters racked up a 37-9 game record in singles and was 19-5 in doubles action. On the men's side, Alex Canovas Ferrando, Nacho Garcia de Sola, Kenneth Limyadi, Beau Millwood and Matthew Limyadi all went 4-2 in their matches last week. 
  • Weekend Recap: Lady Canes Open Season With a Win

    The GSW tennis teams opened up their 2019 seasons over the weekend with the Lady Hurricanes picking up the first win, a 5-2 victory over Christian Brothers University on Friday. Freshman Sophia Winters and senior Charli Allen led the way with victories in both doubles and singles competition. On the men's side, GSW won two of three doubles matches against Christian Brothers before being swept in singles action for a 6-1 loss and Saturday brought a 7-0 setback against NCAA Division I College of Charleston.
