Hurricanes win PBC opener

MONTEVALLO, Ala. — Michael Coffey was 3-for-5, and Andrew Anderson had two RBI as Georgia Southwestern beat Montevallo 6-2 on Sunday for its seventh win in a row.

The Hurricanes scored two in the first inning and never looked back in winning the Peach Belt Conference opener.

Beau Parker, Andrew Archer and Jody Sellars all had two hits in the win.

GSW scored three insurance runs in the ninth behind RBI from Parker, Jared Allen and Anderson.

Trent Franzago (3-2) got the win, working eight innings and allowing one run on four hits. He struck out four and walked one. Gray Carden struck out two and walked two in the ninth.
