Victoria Ondo Burnfin Scholarship Fund

Victoria Ondo Burnfin, former tennis standout and GSW alumna, lost her battle to cancer on Sunday, July 29th, 2018. She played for the Lady Hurricanes from 2011 to 2015 and completed her collegiate career with 30 singles victories and the fourth-highest singles winning percentage in GSW's NCAA era. Her win total ranks fourth on the NCAA era list while her 24 career doubles victories places her seventh. Victoria was a fierce competitor on the court, but an even better person off the court.

In order to honor her memory, the GSW Athletic Department would like to begin soliciting donations for the Victoria Ondo Burnfin Scholarship Fund. The Athletic Department would like to start awarding this scholarship to a worthy, female tennis student-athlete who embodies Victoria’s heart and spirit starting in the Fall 2019.

Coach Sewell fondly states about Victoria, “She might have lost her battle with cancer, but she conquered life by living with determination, perseverance, courage, purpose, and love.”

Our goal is to raise at least $25,000 dollars to ensure the endowment and continuation of this fund for future female, tennis student-athletes at Georgia Southwestern State University and to continue to honor Victoria’s memory for future generations to come.
