AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Peach Belt named Jared Donalson as the PBC Pitcher of the Week after his performance against Georgia College this weekend. Jared Donalson is the first PBC Pitcher of the Week for the Hurricanes this season and joins Josh Newton as the two Hurricanes to receive PBC Player of the Week awards this season. 

Donalson improved to 3-0 in conference road starts as he held Georgia College to one run over seven innings as the Hurricanes opened a three-game set with a 3-1 win. The senior from Albany, Ga., allowed only three hits and three walks while striking out six. He set down the side in order four times, retiring 10 Bobcats in a row at one point. Donalson improved to 6-3 on the year with the win and is now third in the PBC in victories. He also leads the PBC in strikeouts, good enough for 12th in the nation, and is second in opponent batting average, and third in ERA. 

The performance by Donalson this weekend helped GSW win its third road series of the season with a perfect 3-0 this year and winning four of the last five series overall.
