CARROLLTON, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern baseball team extended their losing streak to two as they were defeated in extras by the University of West Georgia.  

The game was tied until the top of the fifth inning on a Paul Hegeman rbi single West Georgia tied the game at one in the sixth inning. 

The Hurricanes scored two runs in the top of the seventh on a Kalvin Alexander two-rbi double to give GSW the lead heading into the bottom of the seventh. 

West Georgia scored two runs in the eighth inning to tie the game 3-3. Neither team scored in the ninth the game went to extras with nobody scoring until the bottom of the 12th inning when West Georgia hit a walk-off RBI double to give them the win.

Cory Lee recorded two hits in his five at-bats and drew a walk Lee was the only Canes batter to record multiple hits. Alexander and Hegeman scored the Canes only runs as they combined three RBIs.

Grant Adams falls to 3-1 on the season he tossed five innings allowed three runs on five his.

GSW will fall to (10-9, 7-5) on the season next up they will be starting a three-game road series with conference rival USC Beaufort  (11-13, 4-8). First pitch 6:00 p.m. Friday at Hurricane Stadium.
