AIKEN, SC. --The Georgia Southwestern baseball team gets back in the win column defeating USC Aiken 5-3 Friday Night.

The Canes got their offense going early and scored two runs in the first inning on a Miles Hartsfield double and a sacrifice fly by Cory Lee

GSW scored again in the third inning on another Cory Lee sacrifice fly that gave the Canes a 3-0 lead.

The following two innings were quiet until the sixth GSW scored again on a Victor Sanchez RBI double that extended the Canes lead by four runs.

USC Aiken struck back in the bottom of the inning and recorded three runs on three hits cutting the Canes lead to one run.

GSW scored again in the seventh on a passed ball that sealed the game for GSW.

GSW recorded six hits in the game Miles Hartsfield recorded two hits in four at-bats with a walk and an RBI.

Peach Belt Conference pitcher of the week Nick McCollum earned his sixth win of the season pitched seven innings and gave up three runs Joe Roden recorded his third save of the season.

GSW will stay in Aiken, Sc as they complete game two of the three-game weekend series starting at 2:00 p.m. from Roberto Hernandez Stadium.
