AIKEN, SC. -- The Georgia Southwestern baseball team posted a shutout defeating USC Aiken 12-0 on Saturday afternoon.

The game was a stalemated pitchers duel until inning number five when the Canes drew first blood on a single from Reid Ragsdale starting a domino effect for the Canes, as Victor Sanchez singled in the next at-bat. Garrett Bradley joined with a sacrifice bunt that moved the runners 90 feet, Paul Hegeman finished the job getting a 2-run single which gave the Canes the lead, and would not look back.

GSW added to their lead with a two-run homer from Reid Ragsdale, and another two-run homerun from Garrett Bradley

After a quiet seventh inning, GSW added salt to the wound the first perpetrator being Reid Ragsdale who singled in a run, then Victor Sanchez who followed suit with an RBI single of his own, the dagger to heart came from Paul Hegeman hitting a two-run double as the Canes enjoyed an offensive onslaught to get the second win of the series.

While the offense was impressive Rijnaldo Euson pitched another gem going seven innings and allowing just five hits as well as earning his third shutout of the season while earning his seventh win improving his impressive record to 7-1.

GSW will stay in Aiken, Sc as they complete the final game of the weekend series on Sunday afternoon starting at 1:00 p.m. from Roberto Hernandez Stadium.
