AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern baseball team are regular season Peach Belt Conference Champions as they swept Flagler College 8-6.
Flagler jumped to an early 1-0 lead on an RBI single in the top of the first inning.
GSW struck back in the bottom of the inning as they took the 2-0 lead thanks to Kalvin Alexander who scored both the runs for the Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes added to their lead thanks to a home run from Chris Patterson who homered in consecutive games.

In the third inning, Hunter Foster hit a two-run home run to extend the Canes' lead to 5-1.

Flagler cut the Canes lead to 5-2 on a sacrifice fly in the top of the 5th inning.
GSW had an 8-2 lead heading into the top of the eighth the Saints scored four runs in the inning three came off a home run the other was a run scored on a GSW error.
GSW held on for the 8-6 win as they won the PBC championship for the first time in school history.

The Hurricanes will host the PBC Tournament against a team to be announced later starting at 6:00 p.m. on Friday night.
