AUGUSTA, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern ESports team finished the season 5-2 and will make their first appearance to the Peach Belt Conference League of Legends Tournament. The Hurricanes finished third in the Red Division and will be the third seed during the LoL Tournament.  

Presented by Studio Architects, the third Peach Belt Conference League of Legends Tournament will begin Wednesday. For the first time, the event will be held online as the top four teams from each division advanced to championship play. Quarterfinals begin on Wednesday, March 24, with one match, followed by three more on the 25th. The semifinals will be on Friday the 26th with the championship match this Saturday the 27th.

The 14 competing teams were split into Red and Blue divisions for the 2021 season. USC Aiken, the defending tournament champion, is the #1 seed from the Red Division after going a perfect 7-0 in the regular season. The Pacers will meet Columbus State, the #4 seed from the Blue Division on Thursday at 6:00 pm.

The top seed from the Blue Division is North Georgia, after going 6-1 during the regular season. The Nighthawks won the first-ever League of Legends title back in 2018 and carry a six-match winning streak into the PBC Tournament. UNG will meet the #4 seed from the Red Division, Alma College, in the first quarterfinal on Wednesday at 9:00 pm.

The other quarterfinal matches are Blue #2 Florida Southern taking on Red #3 Georgia Southwestern and Red #2 Kennesaw State – in their first season with the PBC – meeting Blue #3 Augusta.

All matches will be streamed live on the PBC Twitch channel, with one exception in the quarterfinals (see below). The two teams that reach the championship match will both earn automatic bids to the League of Legends Collegiate National Championship Tournament.

All quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be best-of-3. The championship match will be best-of-5.
