GSW Men's Basketball Hurricane Highlight #2: Historic Conference Start

AMERICUS- The No. 2 Hurricane Highlight of the 2012-13 men's basketball season came at the start of Peach Belt Conference play as the Hurricanes got off to an historic start.

GSW extended a four-game winning streak when the 'Canes earned back-to-back victories against Georgia College and Lander. The 2-0 start proved to be the best conference start in program history.

A balanced scoring attack carried Georgia Southwestern past Georgia College, 63-59, in the conference opener as four different Hurricanes scored in double figures led by the forward duo of Matt Shaw and Milos Kleut who both finished with a team-high 11 points.

Guards Tyler Gunnett and Alan Arnett came off the bench and chipped in 10 points apiece.

The 'Canes used the same formula in the following contest against Clayton State in the Storm Dome as the duo of Kluet and Shaw teamed up once again to lead GSW to their best conference start in program history.

Kluet produced a double-double of 17 points and 10 rebounds while Shaw finished with 16 points and four boards to lead Southwestern to a 70-54 victory against the Lakers.

Tomorrow GSWCanes will unveil the top Hurricane Highlight of the 2012-13 season.
