AMERICUS - Senior guard Brandon Price sank a pair of free throws with 3.9 seconds remaining to lift the Georgia Southwestern men's basketball team past Young Harris College, 66-65, in the Storm Dome Wednesday evening.

GSW improved its record to 6-4 at home, 7-13 overall and 5-8 in the Peach Belt Conference, while Young Harris, who entered the game on top of the west division, saw its mark slip to 13-8 overall, 7-5 in conference play.

For the first time in four games, it was the Hurricanes who jumped out to the fast start. GSW took a 19-4 lead just over seven minutes into the contest after draining five of its first six attempts from beyond the arc.

A Devin Watson jumper with 11:14 remaining in the half gave GSW its largest lead of the evening, 23-7. Young Harris answered with a 12-2 run to cut the Hurricanes advantage to six points.

The Hurricanes led, 34-31, at the half.

Young Harris opened the second period with an 11-2 run to grab its largest lead of the night, 42-36, but back-to-back 3-pointers by Cameron Dozier evened the score for GSW with 16 minutes to play.

Dozier would sink back-to-back 3-pointers again a few minutes later and GSW led by eight, 56-48, but Young Harris refused to go away. The Mountain Lions regained the lead with under four minutes remaining when C.J. Wilson's layup made the score 61-60. From there it was a battle to the final horn.

GSW held Young Harris scoreless over the final 2:15 and Price drained four consecutive free throws in the closing minute to turn a three-point deficit into a one-point victory.

Price and Dozier tied with a game-high 20 points. Tyrone Wooten posted his second consecutive double-double, finishing with 14 points and a team-best 11 rebounds. 

Young Harris was led by Marques McKoy's 14 points and game-high 15 boards. Bjorn Walker made 6 of 9 shots and added 13 points.

GSW plays the finale of its three-game Homecoming Week homestand on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. against Montevallo.
