Hurricanes and Clemson face off in Exhibition

CLEMSON, S.C. — The Georgia Southwestern men's basketball played their first exhibition on Monday night against the Clemson University Tigers. The Hurricanes started out well keeping it tied halfway tied through the first half. The Tigers went on a run late in the second half to make it a 36-25 ballgame at the break. 

The Tigers pulled away in the second half with the Hurricanes struggling to keep the Clemson out of the paint. PJ Hall of Clemson led the Tigers in scoring going 11-14 with 23 points. 

The bright spots for the Hurricanes were Kevin Kone leading the team in scoring against the #1 player in South Carolina in 2019-2020. Kone added 5 rebounds and 3 steals in the contest.

The Hurricanes will next head to take on another Division-I school Jacksonville State on Wednesday. Jacksonville State returns a double-digit number of players from the squad that finished 18-9 and advanced to the semifinals of JSU's final Ohio Valley Conference tournament.
