Hurricanes End 2021 With A Victory

AMERICUS, Ga. -- The Georgia Southwestern men's basketball team got their fourth win of the season Friday afternoon defeating the Middle Georgia State Knights at home. The Hurricanes came into the game missing their leading scorer Donte Tatum. The game was the first game back after a long road trip and was just their second game at home this season. The first half was close with the Hurricanes heading into the break with just a seven-point lead.

The second half seemed to open up for the Hurricanes as they scored 44 points and held the Knights to just 34 in the second half. The team was led by Devon Higgs and Kevin Kone. Devon Higgs had 16 points and eight rebounds, while Kevin Kone led the team in points with 19.

The Hurricanes will open up 2022 with a road game at North Georgia for their second game in Peach Belt Conference play.
