GSW's J.P. Griffin Honored as the Peach Belt Conference co-Golfer of the Week

AMERICUS - Georgia Southwestern's J.P. Griffin was honored by the Peach Belt Conference Thursday afternoon as the PBC co-Golfer of the week as he led the Hurricanes to a third-place finish Tuesday afternoon at the Bearcat Golf Classic in Greenwood, S.C.

Griffin finished tied for third place in the overall standings as the Glenville, Ga. native finished with a three-round score of a two-over-par 218.

The senior was the only player other than tournament champion Adam Hedges of Belmont Abbey to have two rounds under par in the three-round event, shooting 69-70 in the final two.

The 69 in the second round was the second time this year he has had that score, the first coming in the season-opening Kiawah Invitational.  Griffin is now 10th in the PBC in stroke average at 74.1.

Griffin shares the honor with USC Aiken's J.P. Solis who also finished tied for third place at the Bearcat Golf Classic.

Georgia Southwestern will return to the links next Monday, April 1, as the Hurricanes travel to Miami Beach, Fla. for the Buccaneer Invitational hosted by Barry University.
