MIAMI BEACH, Fla. - The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team wrapped up play Tuesday at the 14-team Buccaneer Invitational. GSW finished in 13th place. Anders Olsson led the Hurricanes at the two-day, three-round event with a 2-over 215 total to finish tied for 14th overall in the 82-player field.
Nicholas Ward tied for 44th overall for Southwestern at the par-71, 6,733-yard Normandy Shores Golf Club, seven shots behind Olsson. Fraser Johnston and Jungsun Lee tied for 69th. Both men carded a 234. Nick Ray finished with a 236.
The Hurricanes finished 71 strokes behind team champion No. 1 Barry University. The hosts ran away with the tournament, finishing 22 shots ahead of second place Johnson & Wales. Adam Svensson from Barry edged out teammate Nico Cavero for the individual title as he finished six strokes ahead with a 13-under 200 score.
GSW returns to the links April 18 for the Peach Belt Conference Championships at Callaway Gardens in Pine Mountain, Ga.
