Olsson Leads GSW At Saint Leo Invite

DADE CITY, Fla. - The Georgia Southwestern men's golf team dropped three spots from their Round 1 position to finish in 12th place at the 17-team Saint Leo Invitational that wrapped up play Tuesday. Anders Olsson led the Hurricanes with an even-par 144 at the 7,137-yard Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club to tie for 27th in the 98-player field.

Newcomer Hayes Dupree finished a stroke behind Olsson in his GSW debut. Nicholas Ward carded a 4-over, newcomer Chris Low posted a 6-over, as did Fraser Johnston to finish tied for 63rd. Chris Campos competed as an individual.

No. 7 USC Aiken climbed two spots from Monday to win the team championship with a 14-under 562, four strokes ahead of 10th-ranked North Alabama. The invitational featured a strong field as a dozen of the current Top 25 teams in NCAA Division II played in the tournament, including No. 1 Barry, No. 3 Nova Southeastern and No. 5 Lynn.

Brandon Robinson-Thompson from USCA fired a two-round total of 135 (9-under) to capture the individual title.

GSW returns to the links on Monday for the opening day of the AFLAC/Cougar Invitational in Columbus.
